4 Cool Golf Shoe Styles at the U.S. Open

Golf shoes were invented over 150 years ago. And we sure have come a long way since then.

Remember those tongue flaps on the old saddle shoes?

The boundaries of style and performance continue to be pushed.

Frenchman Gregory Bourdy prefers the old school traditional look with his Foot Joy Icons (replete with a glass of red wine).

The Footjoy Icon is a classic style look made with today’s technology. Players wearing this shoe, include Bourdy, Jason Dufner, and Webb Simpson.

Many of today’s PGA Tour stars, however, are wearing shoes that, well, don’t look a whole lot like golf shoes.

Or at least what they used to look like.

Bubba Watson showed up at the U.S. Open sporting Crusader high-tops from G/FORE.
