This week’s RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Ontario features the world number one and two, in Jason Day and Dustin Johnson, for the first time since Tiger Woods and Greg Norman played in 1997.

 
Matt Kuchar, Jim Furyk, and Brandt Snedeker round out five of the top-25 players in the world who will be competing this week.

The defending champ is Day, who narrowly defeated Bubba Watson with a final round 68, and is looking to be the first back-to-back winner since Jim Furyk did it in 2006 and 2007.

Other former champions in the field include Chez Reavie, Carl Petterson, and Sean O’Hair.

Reavie, Day, and Snedeker are the only ones to win at Glen Abbey. Petterson, O’Hair, and Furyk won at other venues.

 
Last year’s Canadian Open was the event that started Day’s torrid run of seven victories, including the PGA Championship, which earned him the top spot in the world rankings. He will be the favorite this week, just ahead of DJ, who is making a run for the top spot with two wins in his last three starts, including the U.S. Open.
