DL3 Makes The Craziest Par Of The Day At RBC Heritage

0

Davis Love III started playing in the RBC Heritage way back in 1986, over 30 years ago, and has won the tournament a record five times. So he knows his way around Harbour Town Golf Links, to say the least.

This kind of experience comes in handy when you need to bail out of a potentially big score.

After making a double-bogey on the par-3 4th hole, DL3 was facing another big number on the 6th, a 419-yard par-4. But the birthday boy (52 years-old today) came through with the most incredible par of the day.

Shot 1: 252 yards to tree area (160 yards to hole)
Shot 2: 40 feet to tree area (147 yards to hole)
Shot 3: 154 yards to left rough (25 feet to hole)
Shot 4: 25 feet into the hole!

For the day, Love had a couple of painful double-bogeys – one on the aforementioned 4th, and the second on 14 (another par-3) – but finished strong with birdies on 15 and 18 to close with a 1-over 72.
