Kyle Stanley posted a 4-under 66 in Sunday’s final round at TPC Potomac and beat Charles Howell III in the first playoff hole to capture the 2017 Quicken Loans National.

Stanley and Howell III finished the tournament at 7-under-par, two shots better than Rickie Fowler (65) and Martin Laird (67) who tied for third at 5-under.

With the win, Stanley gets a spot in this month’s British Open at Royal Birkdale and next month’s PGA Championship at Quail Hollow.

The 29-year-old also receives a two-year PGA Tour exemption and automatic spots in most of the Tour’s 2017-18 big events and invitationals, including the SBS Tournament of Champions, the Masters, and THE PLAYERS Championship.

The win earned Stanley $1.278M and 500 FedEx Cup points, moving him into the 14th position on the points list.
