Justin Thomas: Against a Rock and a Hard Place

Justin Thomas Rock

Justin Thomas hit his drive on the par-5 15th to the right and had his Titleist lodged next to a good-sized rock.

After discussing the strategy with his caddie Jimmie Johnson, Thomas decided to hit it left-handed, using the back face of a long iron.

Let’s just say it didn’t go off too well, as Thomas whiffed completely. He was more successful on his second try, taking a shorter back-swing. And after a nice approach shot, the reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year actually had a decent chance to save par, but just missed.

This ugly hole led to three straight bogeys for Thomas, knocking him from the front page of the leaderboard.
