Jason Schmuhl and will be teeing it up at the Safeway Open as the worst ranked golfer in the entire world.

Schmuhl is ranked at precisely number 1,873 in the latest OWGR rankings – which places him in the dead last spot in the world rankings. To be fair, Schmuhl is tied with about a couple of thousand or so other (part time) pro golfers who struggle in the big leagues. And to his credit, Schmul is actually good enough to be ranked – which means he’s better than millions and millions of golfers around the world.

The good news is that Schmuhl makes his living as a teaching golf professional, and not on a professional tour.

Schmul is a PGA club professional, out of Windsor Golf Club in Windsor, CA, who excels in local and national PGA Pro events, which has allowed him to qualify for Tour events.

For his Tour career, Schmuhl has teed it up in 9 PGA Tour events, as well as 2 Web.com tournaments. He’s never made a cut, or a dollar of prize money. His best stretch occurred between 2009-11, where he qualified for 6 Tour events – the AT&T Pebble Beach (twice), Frys Open (now Safeway), PGA Championship, and Web.com’s Reno-Tahoe Open (twice).

If you’d like to take a flyer on Schmuhl to win at Silverado, Vegas set his odds at 950/1.
