THE PLAYERS Championship tees off at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida this week.

Last year Jason Day went wire-to-wire, as he started out 63-66 to take a four-stroke lead into the weekend and finished at 15-under for 72 holes – four shots clear of runner-up Kevin Chappell.

 
While Day is the defending champion and still ranked at a gaudy No. 3, it’s World No. 1 Dustin Johnson who is the favorite this week at 7/1. Slightly behind DJ, is the newly-married World No. 2, Rory McIlroy, who’s at 10/1/. Two-time major winner, Jordan Spieth, at 12/1, rounds out what looks to be the top three favorites at Sawgrass.

Masters champ Sergio Garica is at 18/1, while Day, Hideki Matsuyama, Jon Rahm, and Rickie Fowler are all at 20/1. Reigning Olympic Gold Medal winner, Justin Rose, is at 22/1, and the only other player with better than 30/1 odds.
