Safeway Open Odds: Vegas Hedging Bets On Tiger Woods

0

Tiger Woods will tee it up in a PGA Tour event for the time in over 14 months this weekend at the Safeway Open. Despite the long layoff, and uncertainty of his game, Las Vegas is buying into the hype of the Big Cat’s return at Silverado, or at least hedging its bets.

The 14-time major champ, who will reportedly be paired with Phil Mickelson in the early rounds, has been given 40-to-1 odds to win in Napa Valley.

The field at the Safeway Open isn’t exactly Playoff-like but, as noted by FOX Sports, Tiger has been given better odds than 10 players who actually won a PGA Tour event this past season, including Smylie Kaufman, Fabian Gomez, Tony Finau, Charley Hoffman, and Aaron Baddeley.

In fact, only seven players in the field are given better odds to win, highlighted by Paul Casey who, despite not winning shined in the most recent FedEx Playoffs.
