Tiger Woods Calls the Advances in Equipment Technology “Freaky”

Tiger Woods spoke to the press on Wednesday at the Quicken Loans National, one of two events run by the Tiger Woods Foundation — the other being the Deutsche Bank Championship at the TPC Boston.

Some of the topics Tiger discussed, included:

  • His Health: “Getting better”
  • The Tiger Woods Foundation: “20 years goes by fast, real excited, big things “
  • The Olympics: “Wished it was stronger field, liked to have seen it set up like a WGC event”
  • His Game: “Numbers good off the tee, actually gained distance”
  • Mentoring Younger Tour Players: “Close with Jason Day”
  • The PGA Tour: “Misses it badly”
  • The Proper Term for PGA Tour Champions Tour(?): “Seniors, I mean Champions… there you go”
  • The USGA Fiasco: “Awful, no one had a clue”
  • The Advances in equipment: “Davis [Love III] was playing a persimmon [wooden] driver when I beat him in 96… it’s freaky”

The discussion he gets into about the advances in equipment is worth the 2 minute watch.
