Mr. 58 shed some tears reflecting on his friend Payne Stewart and how much the award means to him.

The award is given annually by the PGA Tour to a player who “best exemplifies Stewart’s steadfast values of character, charity and sportsmanship.”

The 17-time PGA-Tour winner, and 2016 Ryder Cup vice captain, is respected and admired by everyone on tour and his charity work is well documented. The Jim and Tabitha Furyk Foundation has been helping families and children in need since 2010.
